How It Works

1. Your Skin Consultation
Your journey begins with a personalised consultation. We’ll assess your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and determine which peel — and level of resurfacing — will give your skin the greatest benefit.

2. Preparing Your Skin
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared before treatment. Depending on the peel prescribed, we may also recommend a medical-grade home skincare programme before or alongside your treatments to help optimise your results.

3. Your Prescribed Peel
Your chosen peel is carefully applied using a protocol tailored to your skin.

ERA Signature Prescription Peel – Our personalised, results-driven peel featuring NOON Aesthetics formulations and DermShield™ technology. It can be tailored to target concerns including pigmentation, acne, ageing and uneven texture.

Obagi® Blue Peel – Our more intensive resurfacing option, targeting concerns such as pigmentation, sun damage, fine lines, uneven texture and acne scarring.
ZO® Skin Health Stimulator Peel – Our gentle “Red Carpet Peel”, designed to instantly refresh dull skin and improve brightness, hydration and radiance with minimal downtime.

ZO® Skin Health Invisapeel – A gentle resurfacing treatment ideal for more sensitive skin, helping to improve texture, hydration and radiance without visible peeling or significant downtime.

4. The ERA Experience
Results-led doesn’t have to mean clinical. Where appropriate for your chosen peel, we combine your professional treatment with relaxing touches to create the signature ERA experience — allowing you to switch off while we work on your skin.

5. Post-Treatment Care
Your skin specialist will complete your treatment with appropriate post-treatment skincare and SPF, depending on the peel performed. Some of our peels have little to no downtime, while our more intensive options involve a period of skin renewal. We’ll explain exactly what to expect before your treatment.
6. Your Results & Aftercare

As your skin renews, you can expect improvements in tone, texture, clarity and radiance. Depending on your concerns, we may recommend a course of treatments alongside professional home skincare to build and maintain your results.

FAQ's

What is a Prescription Skin Peel?
A Prescription Skin Peel is a professional skin treatment designed to exfoliate and renew the skin, improving concerns such as pigmentation, fine lines, congestion, acne, uneven texture and dullness. At ERA, we offer different levels of peel so your treatment can be selected specifically for your skin and the results you want to achieve.

Which skin peels do you offer at ERA?
Our Prescription Skin Peel collection includes the ERA Signature Prescription Peel featuring NOON Aesthetics, Obagi® Blue Peel, ZO® Skin Health Stimulator Peel and ZO® Invisapeel.
They range from gentle, glow-enhancing treatments with minimal downtime through to more advanced resurfacing. Your skin specialist will recommend the most appropriate option for you.

What skin concerns can a peel help with?

Depending on the peel prescribed, treatment can help improve:
– Pigmentation and sun damage
– Fine lines and visible signs of ageing
– Acne, blemishes and congestion
– Uneven skin tone and texture
– Dull or tired-looking skin
– Enlarged or visible pores
– Overall skin clarity and radiance

How do I know which peel is right for me?
This depends on your skin type, concerns, sensitivity, lifestyle and the level of downtime you are comfortable with. Your ERA skin specialist can assess your skin and recommend the most appropriate peel and treatment plan.
You can also take our Which Peel Is Right for You? quiz as a starting point.

Are skin peels suitable for all skin types?
We have a range of peel options suitable for different skin types and concerns. However, not every peel is appropriate for every skin, which is why we assess suitability before treatment. Your skin specialist will also consider any medications, skincare products and previous treatments when recommending your peel.

How do Prescription Skin Peels work?
Professional peels use carefully selected active ingredients to encourage controlled exfoliation and skin renewal. Depending on the peel, this can help remove accumulated surface cells, improve cell turnover and support improvements in skin tone, texture and clarity.
The depth and intensity of this process varies between our different peels.

Does a skin peel hurt?
Most clients tolerate their treatment very well. You may experience warmth, tingling or a mild stinging sensation while your peel is active. The sensation and intensity will vary depending on the peel being performed, and your skin specialist will talk you through what to expect.

Will my skin actually peel?
Not necessarily. Despite the name, visible peeling isn’t required to achieve results. Our gentler treatments, including the ZO Stimulator Peel and Invisapeel, are designed to provide skin renewal with little to no visible peeling.
Our more intensive resurfacing options may result in redness, dryness, flaking or peeling as the skin renews.

How much downtime will I have?
Downtime depends on the peel selected. Some treatments are ideal when you want an immediate refresh with minimal interruption to your routine, while our more advanced peels can involve several days of visible skin renewal.
We will always explain the expected downtime before proceeding with treatment.

How long does a treatment take?
Treatment time varies depending on the peel prescribed and the protocol being performed. We allow enough time to properly prepare your skin, perform your peel and complete the appropriate post-treatment care without rushing your experience.

How many treatments will I need?
You can see improvements in brightness, smoothness and radiance following a single peel. For concerns such as pigmentation, acne, uneven texture or more established signs of ageing, we may recommend a course of treatments for more progressive results.
Your skin specialist will create a personalised treatment schedule based on your skin and goals.

How should I care for my skin after a peel?
Your aftercare will depend on the type and strength of peel performed. In general, we recommend:
– Daily broad-spectrum SPF
– Keeping your skin well hydrated
– Temporarily avoiding exfoliating acids, retinoids and other potentially irritating active ingredients
– Allowing any flaking or peeling to occur naturally without picking at the skin
Your ERA skin specialist will provide specific aftercare instructions following your treatment.

Can I use my normal skincare after a peel?
Not always. Some active products will need to be temporarily paused before and/or after treatment. We’ll advise you exactly what to use and when to restart your usual products.

For clients undertaking a course of peels, we may also recommend a medical-grade home skincare programme to support your in-clinic treatments and help optimise your results.
