Are your toes sandal ready?

With Easter just around the corner and the promise of warmer Spring Days ahead, it’s time to start thinking about bringing our feet out of the long winter hibernation!

Nail Fungus or Onychomycosis (on-ih-koh-my-KOH-sis) to give it it’s proper name, is a common condition that begins as a white or yellow spot under the tip of your nail. As the fungal infection goes deeper, the nail fungus causes your nail to discolor, thicken and crumble at the edge. It can affect single or multiple nails.

Nail fungus is traditionally tricky to treat. Options include using topical treatments (which contain chemicals) or oral treatments (which carry the risk of hepatoxic side effects). Fortunately there is another option – laser treatment. Our powerful ND:Yag laser provides a quick and easy solution to treat this unsightly but very common problem.

The power of the laser light heats evenly throughout the depth of the effected nail and skin. The natural growth processes of the body then restore the nail to its normal state.

We treat the nail in 3 simple ways;

  • We file down the Nail to allow the laser light to fully penetrate the treatment site.
  • We use short bursts from our ND:Yag laser over the entire area, slightly overlapping the beam to cover the whole of the nail.
  • We target further pulses around the perimeter of the nail bed. Often parasitic fungus has worked its way beyond the nail bed and needs to be eliminated in all the tissue surrounding the nail to prevent recurrence.

Is treatment painful?

You will feel a heat sensation as the laser penetrates the nail. We use a cooling system to minimize any discomfort.

How many sessions will I need?

You will need 4 sessions,1 week apart. Further treatments may be required in severe cases.

How much does it cost & How long does it take?

Treatment costs from £99 and can be carried out in under 30 minutes.

What happens next?

To get your toes sandal ready in time for the warmer weather, book an appointment with one of our experienced therapists who will examine your nails and go through a medical consultation with you confirm your suitability for treatment. A patch test will then be carried out to establish the correct laser treatment level. Your treatment sessions will then be scheduled in at a convenient time for you.
